Your Information
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Street Bites collects, why we use it and the choices you have.
Who we are
Street Bites is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us in person or by post at Street Bites, M&S Upper Level, Castlepoint Shopping Park, Yeomans Way, Bournemouth BH8 9UL, or use the contact details supplied with your order.
Information used for your order
When you check out, we collect the information needed to process and fulfil your order. This may include your name, email address, telephone number, collection or delivery details, delivery address, order contents, order notes, discount information and any allergy or intolerance information you choose to provide.
Your checkout information is visible to authorised Street Bites staff who need it to prepare, manage, deliver or support your order. We limit access to people who need the information for those purposes.
We use checkout information to take payment, fulfil your order, send confirmations and service messages, answer queries, prevent fraud, keep appropriate business records and meet our legal obligations. Our main lawful bases are performance of our contract with you, compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business.
If you choose to provide allergy or intolerance information, we use it only to handle your order safely. Please do not include unrelated sensitive information in order notes.
Checkout details are not added to our marketing list unless you separately choose to sign up.
Payments
Payments are handled securely by Stripe. Street Bites does not receive or store your full card number. We receive payment status and transaction identifiers needed to match and manage your order. Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy terms.
Customer accounts and rewards
If you create an optional rewards account, we store your name, email address, encrypted account credentials, rewards balance and rewards activity. Your completed signed-in orders are linked to that account so we can award and redeem Street Bites Coins, prevent duplicate awards and answer account queries.
Authorised Street Bites staff can access account and rewards information where needed to operate the programme, support customers, investigate misuse and maintain accurate business records. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not visible to Street Bites staff.
Email marketing and Campaign Monitor
If you sign up to our mailing list, we use the name you provide and your email address to send Street Bites news, menu updates and offers. We rely on your consent for this marketing.
Our mailing list and marketing emails are managed through Campaign Monitor, our email marketing platform. Your signup details are sent to and processed by Campaign Monitor on our behalf so that it can maintain the list, deliver campaigns and record subscriptions and unsubscribes.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Unsubscribing does not affect essential messages about an order you have placed. We may keep a minimal suppression record so that we respect your choice not to receive further marketing.
Cookies and analytics
We use analytics to understand how the site is used. Anything that sets cookies is only used if you agree to it.
Google Analytics 4 only runs if you accept analytics cookies. Nothing is loaded and no analytics cookie is set before you choose. If you accept, Google sets cookies to recognise returning visits and measure how the site is used, including which pages you view and, when you complete an order, the order reference, order value and items purchased. This helps us understand which dishes sell and where people struggle to order. Google Analytics is provided by Google, which acts as our processor and may process information outside the UK under its own transfer safeguards. We rely on your consent.
You can change your mind at any time. Declining does not affect your ability to order or use any part of the site.
We also use browser storage for functions the site needs to work, such as remembering your basket, your cookie choice, and whether you have dismissed or completed the mailing-list signup. These are not used for advertising and are not shared.
We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your personal information.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only where needed with service providers that support our ordering, payment, database, hosting, transactional email and marketing services. These include Stripe for payments, Supabase for our database and customer accounts, Resend for order and account emails, Campaign Monitor for email marketing, and Vercel for website hosting. Where you have accepted analytics cookies, this also includes Google for Google Analytics. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect legal rights or in connection with a business transfer.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the provider's lawful transfer arrangements and appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep information
We keep order information for as long as needed to fulfil the order and then for the period reasonably required for accounting, tax, dispute resolution, fraud prevention and other legal obligations. Account and rewards records are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed to protect the programme or meet legal obligations. Marketing information is kept while you remain subscribed, subject to any suppression record needed to honour an unsubscribe request. Technical logs are kept only for a proportionate period.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or to object to how it is used. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. These rights can be subject to legal exceptions.
To exercise a right, contact Street Bites using the details above. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.
You have an absolute right to object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.
If you have concerns, please contact us first so we can try to resolve them. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, suppliers or legal obligations change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its updated date.
